I'm the Grinch

Or is that Grinchess? Grinchette? Mrs. Grinch?

I ruined someone's Christmas today. I made a totally stupid mistake in an attempt to fix a problem and instead of fixing the problem, I destroyed any hope of doing so. I nearly cried.

They told us in training that this would happen, but that doesn't make me feel any better.

I think I would much rather deal with the Angry Russian than do that over again!

Oh no....what happened? Did you apologize? Well, hopefully they will get over it. I'm a grinchette too.

Jennifer, you need to get on Facebook, there are a bunch of the Crosswalk gals there!

How much longer does your job last?

Well, I did something the customer asked me to do, without realizing it would cause a problem.

I am not on facebook, and don't really want to be right now. I have my hands full!

Cynthia, my job lasts until january 3rd, and they can extend it, and if there is room, they can hire people on permanently, but there's no guarantee.

So you are working through January 3rd. Okay. I'll be praying about that. Do you have any other prospects? I sure would like to see you get on full-time permanent at a job that you enjoy.

No other prospects yet. I am told that seasonal hires usually get extended a month or more past the new year as there will, of course, be a lot of returns and so on after the holidays.

A lot of the people in my class have already left. It is very sad. The job isn't for everyone. One sweet gal just up and left in the middle of the day after a rough phone call. Several couldn't get to work on time. I miss most of them, but every person who leaves is one less person I have to beat out for a permanent job.

I do love the company, but I don't get paid enough, so I will probably keep looking even if they do keep me.

I hope you get one of the permanent jobs AND a raise. :)

Sorry for the crummy outcome to that call, but...it happens.

If anyone can deal with irate Russians and other cranky, unhappy people, it is YOU! After all, you've been a mother for how long? :P

I agree, you need to get on Facebook when you can.

LOL.

I did get called about another job. Pay still isn't great, and there are other scheduling problems. They need someone on weekends and I said Sat was fine but not Sun. I applied for the job MONTHS ago and they just called yesterday, which is kinda funny. We'll see in any case.
